✨ Hello! ✨
My name is Laura and bookmarkedbylaws is my bookish blog! I am currently 28 years old and love books of a range of genres. I have been an avid reader since childhood but, like many, as I have gotten older, I have repeatedly run short on time to read as much as I would like to.

Ironically, I work in a library and have done for almost 8 years. I love being around books and I really enjoy when customers feedback on books they have borrowed, telling me how much they enjoyed it or what authors they are obsessed with as well as offering me recommendations for books that I might never have thought of.

I decided to start up a book review blog because towards the end of 2024, I started going through quite a lot of personal issues that have definitely caused a negative impact on my mental health. So, with that in mind, I really want my aim going forward to be reading more books to aid with mindfulness that I know reading can help with. I know reading doesn't solve problems but if I can help myself with the new hobby and get to blog about it online, I think it may help, even if just a tad.

Anyway, bookmarkedbylaws, as in the name actually came to me for two reasons. I was trying to think of something bookish as my bookstagram handle and bookmarkedby is a good'un but bookmarkedbylaura was already taken and since my nickname throughout life has always been 'Laws' it just made sense to put them together!

So, please feel free to come along with me on my little bookstagram and blogging journey. At the moment, the aim is just to do book reviews on here but who knows, maybe I will add more on here than just that in time!
